Script for fixing broken character encodings in emails
Hi,
I often receive emails that contain an incorrect "Content-Type" header which causes them to be displayed incorrectly in Thunderbird if the encoding auto-detection is enabled. Is there any filter script out there that tries to figure out the used charset by scanning the mail body and that possibly fixes such encoding inconsistencies? |
check enca - it seems to guess charset, so you have to extract content-type from email and pass it to enca as destination charset - and you will (I hope) have both text encodind and content-type header same.
