Scanning outgoing mail via exim for spam

Hi All,

I have an exim server that is acting as a relay for our customers; at times, a customer may get infected and unknowingly send out spam.

I would like to know how I could configure exim to enable some form of spam checking to block spam before it exits the server.

I've tried searching for an implementation for SpamAssassin but can't find anything specific for outgoing scanning.

Thanks
Anubis.

According to this, you can use exim with clamav.

Hi Frankbell,

Thanks for the reply. Prior to your reply and with a great deal of searching and researching I've managed to get SpamAssassin working with Exim4 scanning the outbound mail. I've also installe ClamAV but I don't think this is operating properly yet; I'll take a look at that guide and see if I can get a little further.

Thanks
Anubis.

Glad I could point you in the right direction. I've never had to do anything like that myself, but I remembered reading somewhere it could be done.
