Samba With Roaming Profiles
Hiya,
Im migrating from 2003 server to linux SME server because its open source and doesn't hog a PCs resources also because my college student license on 2003 server runs out soon and i dont want to pay the renewal fee. I have the SME Server 7.1 up and running and roaming profiles is enabled on it. However whenever i log on to a windows XP workstation i get the message "Windows Cannot Load You Roaing Profile And Has Loaded Your Default Profile DETAIL - Incorrect Function" But the workstation will still let you log on. Using roaming profiles is essential to me as i use my laptop away from home on most days and need to be able to sync my profile to my bedroom workstation so i can access all my files & E-Mails. My sister & parents use different workstations in the house which is another reason for roaming profiles. All machines in the house are Windows XP Professional apart from: 1x Windows Vista Business (Not Connected To Network) 2x IPCOP Firewall Systems Running The Internet 1x SUSE 8.1 Professional CD ISO Sharing Server I have entered the following information into the registry on the Windows XP Professional Clients [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System] "CompatibleRUPSecurity"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters] "DisablePasswordChange"=dword:00000000 "maximumpasswordage"=dword:0000001e "requiresignorseal"=dword:00000000 "requirestrongkey"=dword:00000000 "sealsecurechannel"=dword:00000001 "signsecurechannel"=dword:00000000 "Update"="no" This has not helped   Any suggestions? Many Many Many Thanks :) , BlackFish :newbie: |
sorted, after googling it I discovered i was trying to redirect the Local Settings folder into the roaming profile.
