Samba versions supporting Windows7 Domain Logon .

hi,
I am using CENT os 5 with sambe 3.0.33-3 & it successfully join my windows xp client machines with samba saerver. There are few windows 7 machines with are not connecting with samba. By googleing it show a site "http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7" & it describe .

PHP Code:
Samba versions supporting Windows7 Domain Logon
Support
for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 using Samba Domain Controllers has been added to the following versions

Samba 3.4 or later
Samba 3.3.5
or later
Samba 3.3.2
3.3.3 and 3.3.4 (with NOTES)
Samba 3.2.12 or later
I want to know that what is mean by "With NOTES".

2-If i install new version of samba like samab 3.4 then it will support my both clients i.e windows xp & windows 7 ?

thanks for the replay.

the best way would be to leave the old samba installed and just stop it.

You can then get the new samba and install it to some custom location: /usr/local/samba for example. You can run it from there independently and keep it if you like it
