Samba question
I have a Samba server running in a Windows world here at work. The problem I have is that whenever a user changes their password on Windows I have to manually change the password on Linux- I'm running Suse 10.1. Isn't there some sort of password sync program I can get so that when a user changes their windows password, it also changes the password on the Linux box?

If your on an MS domain then samba can use the Active Directory user/pass.
If your using NIS, it can use that was well. Is there a centralized authentication source or is everyone on a workgroup? |
We are in a MS Domain-

you'll need to set security=ADS and have a kerberos implementation, but Samba 3.x can use Active Directory as an authentication server

Thanks for your reply- I'll research this a bit when I get back in the office next week.
