Samba Printers and Vista

My Samba print server has been working for a long while, and Windows XP has been able to detect the printers from it without problems.

I recently got a Vista Home Edition in the house and it doesn't see Samba squat. To that problem I searched Samba Search, which is down, Linuxquestions and Google, and found not much.

From what I have read the problem or Vista's Security upgrade uses smb2, NTLMv2 instead of smb, NTLMv1. There are not that many solutions to this, except for downgrading Vista's "new" security.

How do I get Vista to see my Samba printers?

thank you

The solution to this problem is usually to use secpol.msc and change the settings, or if that program is not available, to do some changes to the registry.

To do the proper changes in the registry, go to MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Lsa/LmCompatibilityLevel and change the value to 1. Perhaps value may be interpreted in various ways, so I tried changing the following with their own resets.

DisplayType..3(Default), 1, 3, 1
ValueType....4(Default), 4, 1, 1

None of these show me a Samba printer. The other choice is to upgrade Samba on the machine.
Does anyone have any suggestions for the Vista side?
