Samba-ADS issue

Hi Folks,
I'm running samba 3.0.33 integrated to ADS, Authentication and other stuffs works fine. I'm randomly facing some slowness issue while loging in to the server using AD account.Found the following error in smbd.log. Also noticed it gets logged only when i face the issue. Can someone please help me in knowing what could be causing the issue ?. I'm sure there is no network connectivity issue or samba configuration issue.

libsmb/namequery.c:resolve_wins(866)
resolve_wins: WINS server resolution selected and no WINS servers listed.
Could not look up dc's for domain XYZ

libsmb/namequery.c:resolve_lmhosts(966)

Any Help would be appreciated..Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Mani

I'd say the error message is pretty self-explanatory. You DO have a configuration issue; you should either disable WINS lookups or point Samba to a working WINS server.

You're running a version of Samba that's beyond ancient. Have you considered upgrading?

Hi Ser,
Thanks for your response. We are in process of upgrading samba but my question is, we are not facing this issue every time if that's the case i would be happy to change the WINS configuration. It happens randomly and the error gets logged whenever we face the slowness issue.
