Run remote AppleScript from linux

I have some old Macs running Mac OS 9.1 and want to be able to run an AppleScript to shut them down from a linux server on the same subnet. I found some info regarding how to do this using osascript in Mac OS X but it doesn't seem that their is an OSA/AppleScript implementation for linux. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Here's a link to the info I found regarding doing it in OS X:

What I'd like to do is be able to have a APC battery backup connected to a linux server shut down my old Mac OS 9 machines. Maybe there's another way to do it?? Maybe it's possible to have the APC directly shutdown the Macs via TPC/IP?? I don't have a lot of experience with this so any advice would be very helpful. Thanks!
