root partion 100% - cleared and reboot - system didn;t come up

Hello,

I am using Fedora Core release 6.
my / partittion reached 100% due to some logs - system was in this condition for long time. I cleared the logs & freed up some disk space.
After this I rebooted it via reboot command.
After reboot system didn't come up. I had to reboot it manually using powere button. nothing found in logs. what could be the reason?

what to do in case if it happen again ? (it is important to know as system is at remot location)

Thnx,
aakk

You cleared some space by deleting which files?

btw, Fedora core 6 is now very old and you will not recieve any updates.

there was an application running & log file for the that application was using mosst of the disk space.
deleting the log file shouldn't cause any issues with HW reboot.

You don't supply us with alot of info.

What files did you truncate/delete to free up space?

At what stage is the boot failing?

What is on the screen? Maybe screenshot (if VM) or photo if physical?
