Restricting access to hidden files for a user. SLES11 sp3
Using SLES11 sp3, today we had a user go in to the GUI file explorer and she said “I saw a bunch of files that started with a period that I didn’t recognize, so I deleted them”. Naturally, this caused havoc on her account.
Is there a way to prevent the user from seeing the hidden files? I know in the GUI interface, you can check mark “Show Hidden Files”. I am not on site at the moment so I don’t know exactly what GUI explored they are using, but I know they are using gnome.
