Restrict Access to an HTTP Server and Allow the Site to be Accessible through HTTPS

Hi All,

(Studying the Book Red Hat Network Services - RH253 - Unit 7)

I have just learnt how to install and configure Web Services (Apache) on RHEL 5. I am able to access my web site through http.

I have also configured the same web page (/var/www/html/index.html) to be accessible through https.

However, now I want to know how to deny users to access the web site through http. I want the site to be accessible only through https.

I have been using my company's web sites which are accessible through https only.

So, how to achieve it?

See http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/howto-...nnections.html

Is there a reason not to just shut off http?
