restoring image using clonezilla in citrix VM

hi,
I'm working on a project to virtualise a Linux physical computer on Xenserver using clonezilla as cloning tool. Image has been properly done. But restoring on a VM seems not that easy. Creating the VM and booting with the Clonezilla live CD this part is ok. Mounting the image through an NFS server to the clonezilla dir /home/partimag is ok. At the time I used the option to restore image to a disk, I got message no disk or no partition is found.
Points I want to know are;
1 Does an image done from a hda drive can be restored on a sda drive
2 Is there any alternative to do P2V for linux in citrix
3 In my case should I create the linux partition

If anyone can help me

Regards,
