resolving issues

Changing the network address from my server from dynamic to static seem to create more of a problem then i have fore seen.
Installed bind and tested it with nslookup. Every address translates oke.
BUT fire fox seen not to realize how to use bind (if it is the problem) and keeps saying server not found.

Have no more ideas where to look for the reason of this phenomenon

Enyone ?

You didn't mention what distro and version your using.

As part of your troubleshooting, did you open a terminal window and try to ping a known good website by IP and URL? Which if any fails?

Do you have a file /etc/resolv.conf ? If so, check the nameserver entry in it. The nameserver entry should match your DNS server IP.

Problem solved ?!

Thank for the reply.
I'm using fedora 10. After searsing for resolve.conf i found a file that reads
# No nameservers found; try putting DNS servers into your
# ifcfg files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts like so:
#
# DNS1=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
# DNS2=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
# DOMAIN=lab.foo.com bar.foo.com

After putting
DNS1=127.0.0.0 # the local dns
DNS2=10.0.0.11 # the primairy DNS on my network
DNS3=10.0.0.2 # the gateway on my network
At the bottom of ifcfg-eth0 in /etc/config/networking/devices and rebooting the system al worked well.
Please don't ask me why.
