Hi,
My system has a RAID-1 array of two partitions :
Code:
/dev/raid5 - /dev/sda5
/dev/sdb5
I've recently acquired two larger HDs for upgrade replacement.
Suppose that the following steps have been taken :
- One new HD has been installed & synchronized.
- The two old HDs are removed.
- The system is booted into the rescue environment (/dev/raid5 is degraded & un-mounted).
In order to enlarge the size of the array, I can think of two feasible approaches :
1. Use "mdadm --grow --size=max /dev/raid5", then e2fsck & resize2fs on the array.
2. Stop & re-create the array with the same name.
I'm wondering which approach is safer.
Could someone help me choosing, or suggest some alternatives ?
Thanks in advance.
