If I understand your requirement correctly, you will have to set up SASL authentication, and maybe address rewriting using the Sendmail tables virtusertable and probably genericstable.

When I had to do this in the past, I found the following source most helpful:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ght=Cyrus-SASL

(written for Slackware, but largely distro independent)

http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/email/auth.html

(and some more information on http://www.sendmail.org)

Surprisingly, I found, that some of the Postfix FAQs are helpful for setting up Sendmail SMTP-AUTH, too:

http://www.postfix.org/docs.html

Good luck!

hi gargamel

thanks for u r reply

server is authenticating the client well and i had done every thing well but i am not using that authinfo option

now what is the problem is when i am authenticating with an user clled abc@example.com with server it is authenticating
then while sending mail it is accepting argument for Mail From: is any thing i.e not only abc@example.com abc@redaht.com or any thing else it is taking

what i need is if the user athenticate using abc@example.com then server should accept only abc@example.com as parameter for Mail From:

is this is possible with authinfo I don't think so.

I think u get me.
