Really Confusing Postfix Name Service Error

Hi All,

It's been 4 hours I'm getting stuck with my postfix can't sending email.
I'm using SLES 10 with postfix-2.2.9-10.23. I used relay to sending email. But this is the error, relay still occurred as 'none' although I have set relayhost in main.cf.

Code:
May  7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/pickup[7966]: D158C17D304: uid=0 from=<root>
May  7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/cleanup[8230]: D158C17D304: message-id=<20100507144918.D158C17D304@myweb.aerosi.co.id>
May  7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/qmgr[7967]: D158C17D304: from=<root@asist.co.id>, size=433, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
May 7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/smtp[8232]: D158C17D304: to=<otman.oke@asist.co.id>, relay=none, delay=0, status=bounced (Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=asist.co.id type=AAAA: Host not found)
May  7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/cleanup[8230]: E0DB517D305: message-id=<20100507144918.E0DB517D305@myweb.asist.co.id>
May  7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/qmgr[7967]: E0DB517D305: from=<>, size=2281, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
May  7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/qmgr[7967]: D158C17D304: removed
May 7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/smtp[8232]: E0DB517D305: to=<root@asist.co.id>, relay=none, delay=0, status=bounced (Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=asist.co.id type=AAAA: Host not found)
May  7 21:49:18 myweb postfix/qmgr[7967]: E0DB517D305: removed
I have change this from the default main.cf:
Code:
mydomain = asist.co.id
myorigin = $mydomain
mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8
relay_domains = asist.co.id
relayhost = [mail.asist.co.id]
Any solution?

As the error says, asist.co.id doesn't exist. Try fixing that.

psotfix is probably rejecting the mail before the relay step because you have something like the following:
Code:
smtpd_recipient_restrictions =
 reject_unknown_recipient_domain,
 #etc

asist.co.id exist, this is the log:
Code:
myweb:~ # dig mx @mail.asist.co.id

; <<>> DiG 9.3.4 <<>> mx @mail.asist.co.id
; (2 servers found)
;; global options:  printcmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: REFUSED, id: 16594

This is weird, I tried with another server with SLES 9 and postfix-2.1.1-1.17 with the same relayhost and it's working

Problem solved. I've upgrade to postfix 2.7.0, and mail relay working good.
