Qmail with Courier IMAP server [Can't receive mails]

Dear friends,
I setup a qmail on a Debian 5 Lenny server with courier-imap server. I can send mails but cannot receive mails. I altered /etc/init.d/qmail as follows.
Code:
#alias_empty="|/usr/sbin/qmail-procmail" # delivery to /var/spool/mail
alias_empty="./Maildir/" # This uses qmail preferred ~/Maildir/ directory
# You may want to maildirmake /etc/skel/Maildir
#alias_empty="./Mailbox" # This uses Mailbox file in users $HOME
I am new to Linux, please help me to sort this out.

What documentation did you use to set up qmail?

I used following 'Howto' to setup Qmail
http://www.debianhelp.co.uk/qmail.htm

And used following 'Howto' to setup Courier server. [13 Courier-IMAP/Courier-POP3]
http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-se...-ispconfig2-p4

Because all this didn't work, I installed Qmail again on a separate virtual machine with following 'Howto'
http://qmailrocks.thibs.com/

Still I can't receive mails. Yet I can telnet to IMAP port and login successfully.

Please advice me what to do next. Thanks for replying.

I would recommend using "Life with qmail". This is the document recommended by the people on the qmail mailing list.

You can find it here:

http://www.lifewithqmail.org/lwq.html

You should have all 4 services running before looking at an IMAP/POP3 solution.

Quote:
qmail should now be running. First run qmailctl stat to verify that the services are up and running:

# qmailctl stat
/service/qmail-send: up (pid 30303) 187 seconds
/service/qmail-send/log: up (pid 30304) 187 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd: up (pid 30305) 187 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd/log: up (pid 30308) 187 seconds
messages in queue: 0
messages in queue but not yet preprocessed: 0
