Proper way to Sync Debian Mirror but preserve Sarge

I have been tooling around with different way of getting our local Debian network mirror back up and running with different various scripts. I have tried apt-mirror which was a breeze to setup and run, anonftpsync again super easy to get rolling.

My question is there a way to make sure our Sarge distro doesn't get deleted from the mirror? A filtering command for rsync possibly?

I started to go over the script for the ftpsync (debian recommended!) and to be honest it seems way over my head due to lack of documentation that I have been able to find.

Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Sarge hasn't been supported for at least 4 years. Any reason you are still using such an old release?

The reason for keeping Sarge around is we need to be able to support legacy Netware Servers. Also from what I understand Sarge is the last distro that had a complete functioning IPX ripd daemon. When Changes where made from Sarge to Etch the IPX directory structure had changed. The ripd code did not get the updated directory structure. If anyone would know how to recompile that code properly I would love to ditch Sarge but we need ipx ripd to work.
