Problem with sendmail when no internet.
I am running sendmail version 8.13.1 on RHEL4 server.
I have configured my sendmail as SMTP client. Means my server pushes mails to remote SMTP server and that remote SMTP server takes care of final delivery of mails.
I have no DNS server on my side. I am using external DNS server.
Everything works just excellent.
Problem occurs when there is no internet.
My server denies to take mails from mail clients and put it to its queue when there is no internet ( when it cannot contact to DNS server ).
I have tried adding
FEATURE(`accept_unresolvable_domains')dnl
FEATURE(`accept_unqualified_senders')dnl
and
define(`SMART_HOST',`[smtp.server.com]')
I have got this smart host info from redhat website. It tells that adding square brackets disables for lookup of MX record.
But nothing works.
I AM TRYING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM FROM LAST 1 YEARS WITHOUT SUCCESS.
PLEASE HELP.
