Hi all,
I hope that someone could give me a some advices to solve this issue because I am lost.
I have server where postfix is installed. We have noticed that since several days, the /var/log/maillog file display those error messages:
Jul 24 15:04:49 msdpub postfix/master[17442]: warning: process /usr/libexec/postfix/nqmgr pid 1795
4 killed by signal 11
Jul 24 15:04:49 msdpub postfix/master[17442]:
warning: /usr/libexec/postfix/nqmgr: bad command sta
rtup -- throttling
what I have done so far:
- I have check the main.cf and master file without finding any errors.
- I have copied all the files in the /etc/postfix folder fron another server which is exactly the same with no luck
- Tried the postsuper -d ALL
- Tried to delete all files in /var/spool/postfix and the restart the postfix process. The files have been recreated but still I have the same issue.
So I am out of new ideas to try to solve this issue...
If anybody is familiar with postifix and can give me some advices it would be very appriated.
I'd think it's something to do with address re-writing at a guess. Can you post the output of "postconf -n", "ps aux | grep postfix" and the contents of master.cf.
Aside from this, is postfix working at all?
Edit - sorry - duplication is because I was off doing other stuff after starting the post
The error "bad command startup -- throttling" is a problem with service starting. This typically is a typo or syntax error in the master.cf file (such as spaces after = sign).
Problem fixed: it was a memory module issue. After changing some memory modules, and rebooted the server, all was working fine again.
I have suspected a memory issue when I receive several segmentation fault wheb trying to restart some services or trying to start the process manually.
