problem in vsftpd

I have installed vsftpd on my RHEL 5.5 machine. I have 4 users eddie, allie, ed, bob. All of those users are apart of a group called ftp-user. I made "ftp-users" the owner of /var/ftp and I made each of the 4 users home dir to be /var/ftp. Then I went to vsftpd.conf and uncommented the chroot_list_enabled=no, so that it would jail any one that is on the list, and i put all 4 users on the list. then i put in chroot_list_file=name/of/list.

Now I restart my vsftpd service and i log in useing the file browser and i see a blank screen. I can click and drag file in to it but i can not see anythignt that is on it or anythign i put on it. so i do a search and find out that when i clicked and dragged a file in to the ftp browser it uploaded it to the dir that i jailed that user to.

So I thought that I would loging to the ftp sever through the command line. I got connected and I was able to log in, but when i when to use an ls command it said somethign like "ls command not supported" but i knwo the ftp in command prompt does suport that command.

Does anyone know what is wrong i can put files on the ftp server but i can not see them or get them because i can not see them.

And with that, this thread is closed. Please post your question in only one location, so that it is easier for people to help you, and that the conversation remains in one place.
