Preserve symlink on samba share when copying in Windows environment

Hi,

is it by any means possible that a symlink on a samba share that I copy around using Windows client stays a symlink?

At the moment any symlink that I copy around is a normal file and no longer a symlink.

I want Samba to copy symlinks as symlinks. Is this possible?

Windows doesn't have the concept of symlinks, so I would be very surprised if that would be possible.

You say you are copying symlinks from a windows client? How about just making a windows shortcut to the remote symlink.

Yes, I do so because I'm using TortoiseSVN to put the Files into a repository.
