Pre Requisites on Linux for Xterm sessions/terminal
Dear Experts,
There is a 64 bit Redhat 5.5 server:
uname -a
Linux black.xyzzz.com 2.6.18-194.el5 #1 SMP Mon Mar 29 22:10:29 EDT 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I'd like to login to it remotely in GUI mode. Using say, Xming, or Mobaterm.
On a separate windows machine, I've tried installing both products and putty.
Putty can connect fine.
But with the X products, all I get is a black screen. Very odd.
So, intuitively, I figure, the Linux server first needs to be configured for xterm, and the Xwindows/terminals/sessions.
Is this true?
If so, how do I configure it? Or, where is a clear concise document on how to do this on Redhat 5.5?
Thanks a lot!
