postfix vs active directory

Hello,

I'm new here but I have already a question for you guy's

I have to make a test network for a school-project. It has to be 50% microsoft and 50% linux. I tought of postfix versus active directory.
I was wondering if it is possible to fetch users I have created in an Organizational Unit in active directory on my postfix.
I wanna do something with a php script on a apache server, php creates users in an OU on active directory and the postfix has to make a mail account for there users and get the password and such so that the users can log into squirrelmail or another webmail client...

Someone has an idea?

Greetings

I use a hacked version of http://www-personal.umich.edu/~malth...x/getadsmtp.pl to create backup MX servers from Active Directory. This pulls active email addresses, and puts them in valid_recipients which allows the MTA to accept mail, and forward it on. This won't get you right where you want to be, but it's a start.

so, if I get it right this fetches pre-made smtp-adresses from the AD on server "domaincontroller1.example.com" thank you very much for this script
does it also get the passwords in the ad? Don't think i will get the passwords directly from de AD server. Think i wil md5 them on the php form en store them in a mysql database... But that's not realy the assignment... Hope it wil work for getting passwords from the ad. That the domain admin can change them directly in the AD and that it then works over the internet... hope you know what i mean
