postfix - using

Hi,

I'm new to using postfix but i'm hoping someone can help me.

I used this tutorial to assist me with adding multpile domains (i'm using debian by the way):

http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/243

in my main.cf i have virtual_maps mapped to /etc/postfix/virtual/addresses (as described in the tutorial. Everything works find except i'm a bit confused about something. In my addresses file i have something like this:

mydomain.com DOMAIN
info@mydomain.com user1
user2@mydomain.com user2

another.com DOMAIN
info@another.com user3

Now, if i send an email to user2@another.com i'd have thought it wouldn't get deilvered, but it gets delivered to user2 even tho he isn't set up to receive email from this domain. Have i done something wrong here?

Thanks

Ant

It's because you have you virtual domains listed under mydestination (mydestination = $myhostname, /etc/postfix/virtual/domains).

Note - from http://www.postfix.org/VIRTUAL_README.html
Quote:
NEVER list a virtual alias domain name as a mydestination domain!
I don't know why the howto you are using says what it does, but I'd be using the link above as a guide instead.
