Postfix to create mailbox upon user registration

hi guys,

I have a postfix server and my company has a few community websites. I am now trying to find a solution for each user who has registered on community website and once completed postfix will create an account automatically and let the user know his/her account. I believe this could be done by integrating with PHP but I do not know where to refer to.

Can anyone here give some comments or website to refer?

Postfix will not create the account itself but your IMAP server may be able to; unless I'm missing something. Postfix is just an MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) that routes email from one server to the other. The users' mailboxes are handled by the MDA (Mail Delivery Agent), such as dovecot, cyrus-imap, courier. You're gonna have to narrow it down to that. I know that cyrus can be configured to authenticate LDAP users.

I am using courier-imap and courier-authlib server and maildrop filtering system. Courier is a MTA and it uses maildrop (MDA) to deliver the message to mailbox. So, which part should I configure to enable user account creation automatically?

And I do not use LDAP but want MDA to create an account upon user registration on web after filling online form (The web is using PHP). So, this will involve integration between postfix email server and web rite?

Correct me. Newbie with Postfix.
