postfix - postgrey - lost connection after RSET

Hiho,

I'm using debian 4.0r6 / postfix / postgrey ...

This works really fine for 99+% of emailsenders

From time to time I get

Nov 11 09:01:54 grey2 postfix/smtpd[28926]: lost connection after RSET from unknown[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]

What does that mean, can I prevent it on my machines or is it a "someone elses problem"?

Thx
JD

Try this... (from the machine)

Code:
telnet localhost 25
helo localhost
mail from: <youremailonthisdomain>
rcpt to: <youremailonthisdomain>
rset
quit
It's not really a problem, but based on the return of the rset you should be able to get an idea of what is happening, your server may be denying them a rset and they're dropping connection (spammer), it could be issuing a reply that is non-standard (your problem), etc.

tried it:

grey2:~# telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 grey2.fade2grey.xxx.de ESMTP Postfix
helo localhost
250 grey2.fade2grey.xxx.de
mail from: bb@xxx.de
250 2.1.0 Ok
rcpt to: bb@xxx.de
250 2.1.5 Ok
rset
250 2.0.0 Ok
quit
221 2.0.0 Bye
Connection closed by foreign host.

I can't see no problems here.

Most other mailservers work fine, I only know of two mis-behaving. For a start I whistlisted them, but thats of course no solution for not know delivery failures...

Many Thx
JD
