Told you I don't use ubuntu ao I too have to do my search.
So try the following to see if you have already installed the latest version:
Code:
apt-cache policy postfix
And once again:
Before anything else, why don't you use in master.cf the following:
Code:
lmtp : "lmtp unix - - y - - lmtp

I've checked the lmtp and it's alredy like that.

I even run the apt-cache command and I got

Code:
apt-cache policy postfix
postfix:
  Installed: 3.1.4-4ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.1.4-4ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3.1.4-4ubuntu1 500
        500 http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-updates/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     3.1.4-4 500
        500 http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty/main amd64 Packages
     3.1.4-3 500
        500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/lamont/postfix/ubuntu zesty/main amd64 Packages
So I think the version installed is already the updated one so I really don't know where the problem is.

Try to send an email from an external provider while watching the logs and see what happens.

unfortunately the logs information were not available because the client couldn't reach dovecot but I discovered that the bounced email on the very bottom had some very useful information that indicate me that the problem were not on the IMAP but on SMTP!!
Very strange!
