Postfix does not check for MX record for multilevel subdomains

I just found out, that postfix bounces emails with the error, that the
host does not exist for domains, that actually have MX record. When
you look closer to the log you will see, that the problem is witch
checking MX record. The domain is ceres.k12.ca.us, but postfix is
checking MX for k12.ca.us.

Any idea why and how to solve this problem...?????

This is the log:

Oct 3 17:32:39 localhost postfixt/smtp[7328]: 3222A1C3D68:
to=<-----------@ceres.k12.ca.us>, relay=none, delay=0, delays=0/0/0/0,
dsn=5.4.4, status=bounced (Host or domain name not found. Name service
error for name=k12.ca.us type=A: Host found but no data record of
requested type)

This may or may not be related but there were a few issues with your dns config according to:

http://www.intodns.com/ceres.k12.ca.us

The "same glue" error message could indicate a problem that might prevent dns queries succeeding:

Quote:
Looks like the A records (the GLUE) got from the parent zone check are different than the ones got from your nameservers. You have to make sure your parent server has the same NS records for your zone as you do.I detected some problems as follows:
For ns2.ceres.k12.ca.us the parent reported: ['68.113.60.5'] and your nameservers reported: ['75.141.0.5']
For ns1.ceres.k12.ca.us the parent reported: ['68.113.60.5'] and your nameservers reported: ['63.206.162.4']
It's also not a good idea to perform recursive lookups for anyone, I suggest you restrict it.
