Possible to log shutdown messages?

Is it possible to log messages of a remote CENTOS server when it is shutting down?

I have a remote server which does not come back after issuing a reboot command. I have to go into the Datacenter's control panel and issue a reboot from there.

Any ideas?

a "normal" shutdown is logged, so actually I do not understand what do you need. Where do you want to log (on the same host, or on a remote host)? What do you want to log (the shutdown command itself or the shutdown process, or ???)?

I suspect my server stalls while powering down. So logging all the messages it throws while powering down whether on the server itself or a remote would do

I think that should be available in /var/log on that host.
