permission denied access mplayer for user

i have using fedora 9 machine i used via root user access mplayer listening sound but as a same time i logout and (non root user)login user via and access mpalyer its playing but NO sound how to give permission without add root, wheel group permission very needfull

i guess users have to be member of the 'audio' group for this
groups [user] to check this and
moduser -G [groups] [user] to change it
