Package which shows what is going to be afected through an update


Hello,

i know there is a package which shows which dependencies are going to be updated through an update, but now I can't found it.

I'm using apt, can somebody tell me which is the package?

Well, doing an aptitude -s -y upgrade or apt-get -s -y upgrade will simulate an upgrade and show you what's going to be done.

Yes, many thanks. That also helps me.

But, correct me if I'm wrong, there is a package (apt-get install <package>) which you install and then, when you go and do :

apt-get install anotherpackage

tells you which security issues solve, and which bugs are solved.


I just dreamed about that or was something real, may be was from my time on gentoo, I really don't remember. sorry.

No, you're right. That program is apt-listbugs.
