Override ProxyPass in Subdirectory

Hi,

my apache 2.2 does proxy another host via the
ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse directives.
The proxying should only happen in the root
of the site, a subdirectory like "http://www.foo.com/bar"
should show the normal web-dir according to the DocumentRoot
setting in the VHosts file. How can I override the proxy-settings
just for a subfolder?

Thanks,

Toby

you can't as far as I am aware. I can't think why you'd ever want to though... seems very strange a thing to want to do. I suppose you could proxypass to yourself, but that's pretty ugly. Can I suggest you explain the situation you're and and I expect we'll be able to suggest a better way out of whatever you're stuck with.

There is that webservice from an application running and listening on port 7777.
For security and usability reasons i don't really want to open port 7777 to the
public, so i added these lines to my apache-config:

ProxyPass / http://localhost:7777
ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:7777

This works pretty well, but i would like to provide a little faq, so i decided
to add a location /faq.
This is where the problem comes in, because the ProxyPass gives me the always the
localhost:7777, even at /faq.

Thanks!
