OpenSuse hangs frequently. Need help in debugging.
Hello LQers!
I'm running OpenSuse 11.1 (i586) on Dell D400 laptop, let's call it a server. I'm using it for Samba shares, HTTP server, MySQL-DB, IRC-screen, rtorrent... etc. Normally there is only one other PC in the LAN. Windows 7 64bit. I've now noticed that sometimes after I've used samba shares much, and then shutting down my Win7, the server will hang. Not immediately, but something like 10 minutes after powering off the Win7. On the server log, there is absolutely nothing after the hang, last "-- MARK --" is there, but nothing after that. How to get more logging for debugging? And how to get confirmation that it really is the samba that causes server to hang? - Membit |
Are there any errors on the console, kernel panic, etc?

No, there is nothing... it just hangs right where it was and doesn't react to any keystrokes from console.
