OpenAFS installation on Fedora 13


Hi ,

i am trying to create a testing environment with openafs - kerberos - nis - autofs on fedora 13 there are documents but there is no guide where to get started i have fixed nis + kerberos i need help with openafs please help to get started its tooo broad there is no straight forward thing to get start if someone with experience can just summarize or provide some basic so i can get started will be great

guides for fedora and use on servers will be very far and few between

fedora is such a FAST MOVING target ( a very new and different version every 6 months)
Also fedora 13 will be End of Life very soon aprox. 3 months[ 90 days] )

you will probably be better off installing that on RHEL6 ( and buy a support license )
red hat has a 7 year ( for $$$ ) life span .

thanks for the advise , still i need help if anyone has a guideline to install an afs server on fedora 13/14 rhel 5/6 ubuntu 10 , sled 10/11 all will work

looks like you need to build the kernel mod for the file system
