Seems you are using ipv6

and here i see an issue.

So i would suggest disabling IPv6 if you are not using it, to /etc/sysctl.conf --> net.ipv6.conf.eth0.disable_ipv6 = 1
Also comment out the lines for ipv6 in your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfgh-eth0.
you may need to reboot after this and check if your network works fine now.

Here's my /etc/sysctl.conf, I don't see that setting in there, so does that mean I have to add it manually via vi?

So do I just need to do the steps in that tutorial only then?

Also, I'm still not quite sure on why having ipv6 enabled would make eth0 drop off after the login screen comes up after a reboot.
