Question NX Server using SSH needs DNS

I have installed a no machine server (3.2.0) on fedora (2.6.22) and a client on a windows machine (XP). I can get the SSH desktop connection only if both machines are connected to internet. If I try to get the SSH desktop only with a switch in between I cannot get it.

The NX Server needs to reach the DNS server. I saw a request to DNS server and if a reply does not come I cannot get the connection with the NX server. I tried to delete the DNS on fedora. If fedora cannot reach the DNS server I cannot get a SSH desktop connection.

Fedora needs to be connected to internet only in the begining. If I unplug the wire to internet when the SSH desktop is done. After that It works fine.

If I use a Nx desktop connection with TCP instead SSH I do not have such issue.

I tried to install again the nxserver and nxnode but that does not help.

Could be a software limitation with the NX server?

Thanks

Make sure the /etc/hosts file on your Linux installation has the IP and hostname of both the box itself, and you Windows machine.

In fact, It was the loopback address. I had the following line written

::1 localhost.domain localhost

Instead that one I put:

127.0.0.1 localhost.domain localhost

and I add the IP and hostname like you told me before. But even without the hostname of client and server it works.

Thank you again.
