Notebook LDAP Domain

I´m gonna make a ldap domain for lan with windows and linux, at this lan there are some notebook with windows xp and these notes doesn´t stay all the time at the company. Is it possíble to make a notebook join the domain without have to use the windows to join it? I ask this because notebook with windows that make some kind of authentication at a domain needs some extra configuration (always made by the user) to have access at wireless networks that don´t have domain authentication, and unfortunately my network users don´t want to make these modifications all the time they need to have access to a wireless network. I imagined some kind of hardware authentication like mac address or something else, is this possible with ldap?

You could use domain authentication with an offline mode available.

Mac addresses are spoofable and are not routable, and as such, make a bad choice for any authentication system. (And there's no way to do that with LDAP that I'm aware of.)
