Red face NIC issue in fedora 9

Hi All,

I have installed Fedora 9 on my machine. The problem is that when I start the machine the network card eth0 doesnt comes up. When I restart the network service by "/etc/init.d/network restart" it comes up. The network service is on at startup. I was able to overcome this issue by putting the above command in /etc/init.d/rc.local.But I dont feel this is a good way. Has any one faced the same issue and have any other solution to solve the issue ?

Thanks
Prasad

Hmm I've always done it that way. Leave it like that, it isn't anything to worry about... IMO

Not neccesarily... it depends on how your configuration might have changed or how you installed the distro. Many factors can affect it, including if you (for example) installed a second NIC at some point, or replaced the existing NIC, you changed IPs at some point, etc. etc. Just use it like it is, I have been doing so for about 5 years with no problems at all.
