Did you bother to actually ready any of the previous posts?? Several times you were told that you could run Squid from pretty much ANY distro, and 'regular' Ubuntu was pointed out a few times. From post 13:

Again, did you not read the previous posts??? Same as you would for ANY version of Linux. Re-read post #2
  • Download it (the Ubuntu ISO image)
  • Burn it to DVD
  • Boot from it
  • Follow the instructions on the screen to install
Check Ubuntu's website, Google, or any one of THOUSANDS of tutorials that walk you through installing Ubuntu.

The short answer to your question can be found here: https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/squid.html

Ubuntu has several tools to handle installation, configuration, and removal of software. These tools include, aptitude, apt-get dpkg, and synaptic package manager. The easiest to use would be the synaptic package manager which is a gui tool. You simply search for the software that you want, click the check box and it will install it along with all of the dependencies. Almost as easy is to use apt-get install <application> from a terminal prompt. If you pay close attention you may notice that when you run synaptic that it prompts you for the password. This is because installation is a root privileged operation. By the same token, if you use apt-get you will need to provide root level authentication by using sudo.

Here are some guides on the package management for Ubuntu:
https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/server...anagement.html
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticHowto

I would also like to add, just in case you do not understand why, you are receiving a cold response to your question of how to install squid because this is the type of question that a forum should not be your first place to look. The first link that I provided to you, which plainly shows the command to install squid, was found by entering "install squid ubuntu" into the Google search bar. Your question a question that is easily found with a simple search gives the impression that you do not respect the time and effort that others put into this forum to answer questions. Perhaps you tried to search and had trouble, but you made no mention of what you had attempted and only asked for someone to tell you what to do.

Again, did you read post #2? Where it says you can install it from your online repositories? Where you were directed to look at Google, for any one of 4.3 MILLION results on how to install squid in Ubuntu??

Putting in "ubuntu install squid", first hit:
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-set...in-ubuntu.html

I agree with noway2, but it appears as if you don't want to listen to any answers, or actually put forward any independent effort.
