Need help: Apache2 Configuration

I have installed Ubuntu 7.10 server on a desktop pc and have installed the ubuntu-desktop gui. I have also installed Apache2 http server and need to change it to ('listen' so to speak) on the ip address of the machine its installed upon rather than localhost so that I can serve my pages accross the network which this machine is a part of. How do I change the ip so that i can type in http://192.168.x.x resulting in my pages being served accross all of the network. I've done this before in a windows environment but the linux apache2 installation is very different I find in comparison to the way that apache does its stuff in windows. Can anyone help?

I think your default apache config should be ok, my understanding of ubuntu is that it blocks incoming access to all ports by default, are you sure that the problem isn't with your firewall?

Blimey, ok I just typed in 192.168.x.x into my browser on my machine and on a seperate machine and as you say it works straight off without editing apache config, Excellent! thankyou for your post, im starting to love linux I was getting confused cos I think in windows you would have to go to httpd.config and tell the server to use 192.168.x.x opposed to local host.......

problem solved cheers mate.......
