Question Need help

Hi Everyone,

I am accessing samba sharing (Open SUSE) on windows 7 and users are created on windows AD server (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard).

Since users are on AD and sharing is on UNIX, I am facing a challenge to set file permissions for AD users.

Please help me to figure out a solution.

Thanks!

would be nice to tell us more. How was your samba configured, what kind of problems do you have (exactly). Otherwise we can only say: just do it.

You don't tell us what version of Samba or openSUSE, but Windows 7 is ANCIENT. You also don't say what you've researched/done to figure out a solution to your 'challenge', but putting "how to authenticate samba to active directory" into Google pulls up LOTS...read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature.

First two hits in Google:
https://www.howtoforge.com/samba_active_directory
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Set..._Domain_Member

Don't ask people to look things up for you...please show effort of your own.
