Nagiosql - Permission Error.

As you can see in the attachments, I'm getting this error messages which seems to be permission problems, however, I have tried to use commands like:

Quote:
chmod -R 777 /etc/nagios
chmod -R 777 /etc/nagiosql
and it still doesn't works, I still get the very same error messages related to "permissions".

I'm trying to write a new host entry (in Nagiosql) but I always get these error messages. Same thing when I try "Write additional data", then I get:

Quote:
Write host configurations ...
Cannot open/overwrite the configuration file (check the permissions)!
Write service configurations ...
Cannot open/overwrite the configuration file (check the permissions)!
I usually don't have problems with Nagios itself and this is my first time doing something with Nagiosql. I personally don't like these nagios frontends, but I have to do it for a client.

So, any clues about what is going on here ?

Thanks !

The first thing to do would be to read the Nagios(ql) and web server logs, access and error logs for clues, not mess with DAC permissions. Allowing a web server to interact with content in a directory with wide open permissions is a recipe for disaster. If you don't know that then I wonder what end results you've been delivering to your clients previously. Go reset /etc/nagios and /etc/nagiosql directory and file permissions and ownership, do what http://www.nagiosql.org/faq/31-gener...ml#Permissions tells you to do then see if that fixes things for you. If it does not then at least tell us what system account the web server runs as and supply the permissions like displayed in the documentation for comparison.
