Hi all!!,

i've setup a nagios installation (3.0.6) with many other components (nagvis and mnay more).

All works great ! BUT

I've installed postfix on the same machine, and it works correctly.

I've made lab to test notifications:

whena i generate a critical conditions, nagios see it, set the host to critical, and nothing happens...

If, in webconsole of nagios, i send a "custom alert" for that critical condition, i receive correctly an email that was previously setup on contactgroup, with the notification of that critical conditions.

My question is: why does not happens in automatic?

It seems that nagios doesnt do anything when a critical condition appear.

The interval timing are all set to 1 so the maximun time that i have to wait is 60 seconds ... but i have waited over 5 minutes...

Any ideas?

finally i found the solutions!

If in the contacts or timeperiods configuration you've got a "n" over the notification options (like w,r,c,u that stands for warning,recovery,critical ....) the notifications will not work. The "n" stands for NO NOTIFICATIONs, even if you've got, for istance, w,r,c,u,n , the N has the priority. Removed n, restarted nagios and that's it! it works!

Hope this post could be helpful to someone out there...i spent at least 10 hours of mylife following this issue...
