Nagios Error!!!
Hi all,
I am monitoring my remote server using NAGIOS in my server we are hosting web applications also, from that server our website is not loading properly that means it shows 404 page not found error. but nagios didn't send any mail alert for that, I dont know what mistake i did, can anyone please suggest me what i need to for that!!

Hello,
The 404 code doesn't necessarily mean your webserver is not working, just that the resource you're trying to access is not found. Have a look here for the different error codes. How are you controlling your webserver? Monitoring port 80? If you have access to the server, check if your webserver is running, check the files and permissions in the documentroot.

Hi Eric,
Actually we are running web server using tomcat , while some time tomcat does not deploying the application , that time also 404 error will come..
and my question is even manually i did some mistakes also means as u said (folder permission and all) that to reflect in nagios ri8? is it
possible???
Even my Webserver ruunning fine i monitoring port 80..but some applications not working properly how to identify this issue using nagios??
please guide me Eric
