myuser symbolic link

I have created a symbolic link to a directory for a user.

The user is "myuser" and the users home is /home/myuser. I have created a symbolic link as such "ln -s /myvidfiles/ /home/myuser/vidfiles"

My question is, can I limit what shows up in that symbolic link? For example, the user "myuser" should only be able to see files that start with "myuser". In the directory /myvidfiles, there are files such as myuser-1.wmv, myuser-2.wmv, test.wmv, etc. I only want myuser to see files that start with myuser.

Change the ownership/group and the permissions of the files. Or use acl. Or create a separate directory for each user. It goes on and on. There are all kinds of different ways to accomplish it.
