mysql works from command line, but mysql.sock (13) error from php..

Hi!
I restarted the server, when I run apache, I got error:
Code:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysql/mysql.sock' (13)
but I can login into mysql using command line. I never had this problem before. I didn't change any settings in any configuration files.

I remember I had problems connecting from console in the past and got the same error, but I chmod'ed /var/run/mysql and it worked.

Any suggestions please? Thank you!

UPDATE:
Problem solved!! I chmod'ed /var/run/mysql/ with 777 instead of 740 and it works!!
