Moving password and mailboxes to a new postfix mail server

Team;
I have managed to create a new postfix mail server with 500 users on a redhat 4.8 server,now i am facing a challenge in moving mailboxes and passwords from an old linux suse mail server. Before creating new mail server old emails contained only one name i.e sergey@example.com but new mail server contains two names i.e sergey.sergeyevich@example.com. I want users to use the same passwords as they used before. Please give me clear instructions on what to do. Thank you a lot for your help.

can you give more description about the problem, as i understand that first you want to move the mailboxes from the old linux suse mail server to post mail server, and then you need to change the address from one name name@example.com to two names, is that right?

i think you can use the same mailbox directory in the postfix you need to configure the place of the mail boxes in the /etc/postfix/main.cf.

and for the second problem i think you can make aliases for the addresses, for example every email directed to test@example you can direct it to test.test1@example.com.

Thanx a lot for your reply;
I have two cases,the first one is moving mail boxes,which i think will be solved by creating those aliases
The second case is PASSWORD. I want users to keep on logging using their old passwords,so i just wanna know how may i make this possible?This new mail box is going to be using from tuesday next week but am struggling to see how can users logon to their mails using their old passwords.
PLEASE HELP ON THIS

yes you can do this easily, the postfix use MD% for encryption of the passwords which is stored in the database, all what you want to do is to get to the database, which in my server is on MySQL database called vimbadmin and take the mailbox table all it's data to the new mailbox table;

or if you want another way you can find what postfix needs to alter in the old database, doing the changes and use the same database and in this case you will use the same passwords.
