There is no firewall or ip tables between these. Os version is RHEL 6
Any idea what could be the error?

Thanks in advance.

Few things to check
1. What version of NFS are you using? NFS4 you have to mount everything from one "root" dir, NFS3 lets you mount various nested dirs
2. The content of /etc/export (do you use the ip or hostname? what are the permissions)
3. After making changes to your NFS file, did you restart the service to take in the new changes?
4. What do your log files say?

Hope that gets you started

Cool Solved:- NFS time out

Hey guys,

I was getting the same error.
The only reason i realized later for there to be a timeout is because the connection has not been established properly.
Digging deeper into the problem, I checked my firewall, and damnn NFS4 service was blocked !!

Code:
system-config-firewall-tui
Use this command to unblock your NFS in firewall settings.
