mingetty problems


hi @all,

i have a problem with my vserver running fedora 10.
in the /var/log/messages i see fallowing errors:

what i see is that i have no tty1-6 in my /dev/ directory. but i dont know where i can configure mingetty to use other tty.

As your listing shows you don't have the /dev/tty5 device file and similar files. Thus mingetty is saying you don't have tty5. Make sure you have:
/dev/tty1
/dev/tty2
/dev/tty3
/dev/tty4
/dev/tty5

You can make the above tty device files as root user by:
Type in a Terminal
mknod /dev/tty1 c 4 1
mknod /dev/tty2 c 4 2
mknod /dev/tty3 c 4 3
mknod /dev/tty4 c 4 4
mknod /dev/tty5 c 4 5
